Our guest blogger today is Tami Chaize, Davis Drive Elementary's very own IT Guru. She is peeking into the future of educational technology....
Have you heard of Augmented Reality (AR)? It is a live view of a real thing that is augmented (or supplemented) by computer generated input. With Digital Learning day right around the corner, I was browsing through twitter posts and one caught my attention from Richard Byrne. I know we don't teach chemistry in elementary school, but I wanted to see what the future of technology and education will be and it is pretty amazing!
I went to Richard's Site - Free Technology for Teachers - Exploring 4d Elements
and was amazed at what a company, Daqri, had created. Read the article and watch this video. I downloaded the free Elements4d app and followed the instructions and was amazed at what it did! I am sure we will be seeing more of this type resource in the future of education.
Here is a (our) hands-on demonstration of augmented chemistry. Watch as we make WATER!
